We partnered with the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s Christmas Adopt-a-Family Program, sponsoring five families this Christmas. This partnership ensures that these families experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season, providing them with essential items and gifts. The Adopt-a-Family Program is designed to match donors with families in need, ensuring that each family receives personalized support tailored to their specific needs. By participating in this program, we have helped create memorable and joyful holiday experiences for these families, fostering a sense of community and care.
Enhancing School Snack Programs
Recognizing the importance of nutrition in education, we donated to several local school snack programs:
- Drayton Heights Public School: $2,500
- Maryborough Public School: $1,250
- Palmerston Public School: $1,250
The cheques were delivered by employees who live in these areas and have children in these schools. These donations help ensure that students have access to healthy snacks, which are crucial for their learning and development. Proper nutrition is essential for students to stay focused and engaged in their studies. By supporting these snack programs, we are contributing to the overall well-being and academic success of the students. Next, we jingled our way over to the local food banks, providing substantial donations to help those in need:
- Drayton Food Bank: $15,000 (along with dry and pantry goods)
- Palmerston Community Food Bank: $5,000
- Harriston Community Food Bank: $5,000
These contributions are vital in supporting the food banks’ efforts to provide for families and individuals facing food insecurity, especially during the colder months. Food banks play a crucial role in the community by offering essential food supplies to those who might otherwise go without. Our donations help ensure that these food banks can continue to operate and serve the community effectively. The additional dry and pantry goods donated to the Drayton Food Bank further enhance their ability to provide a diverse range of food items to those in need.
